Maria Chifa

Maria

I am Maria Chifa and I am currently on an internal placement as a Research Assistant, within the Psychology Department under supervision of Dr Fabia Franco. I am assisting the team with running a British Academy funded study, which looks at how sounds affect the perception of images in young babies, and how this develops from infancy. My responsibilities are to contribute to the recruitment of the participants and collecting and analyzing data. It represents a great opportunity to improve my skills by working alongside the professional team, and I am able to utilise my skills I have achieved from being a mother of three girls.

I am also writing a personal blog, both in English and Romanian languages, about our twin girls who were born prematurely, at 28 weeks. The purpose of the blog is to offer support to parents who go through similar experiences, as well as raising awareness of prematurity. The link to the blog is www.mariachifa.com
